WHY NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS FAIL!

MAKE THIS YEAR DIFFERENT

This time of year is renowned for the ‘New year…New me’ motion.

And yes a new year brings fresh hope and motivation that this year will be different.

But the unfortunate reality is, even with the best intentions in the world, it won’t guarantee you the outcomes you are after without taking the necessary actions for long enough to reap the rewards.

It becomes a vicious cycle…

January rolls around. We set goals around our health, fitness and wellbeing.

For it to only be derailed come February by reverting back to old habits.

SO WHY DO NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS FAIL?

In our experience one of the main reasons things derail is we get so fixated on the outcome that we lose sight of the processes (e.g. the daily actions the HOW) needed to get to the outcome.

THE KEY IS TO FOCUS ON WHAT YOU DO, NOT ON WHAT YOU WANT.

A simple way to put this into practice is to write down your 3 DAILY NON NEGOTIABLES.

These are 3 easy things you need to do today to ensure you work towards your goal.

For example – I want to drop a few Xmas kilos

3 Daily Non Negotiables:

1 – Go for a morning walk

2 – Have a serving of protein with each main meal

3 – Train at the gym

You tick the above more often than not, without you knowing these daily small wins begin to accumulate interest overtime and build momentum towards your end outcome. What seems like tiny improvements will translate into something much more rewarding.

Now don’t be fooled just because they seem small doesn’t automatically mean they are easy. They are just as easy not to do.
